Red Hat Certified Architect
A Red Hat® Certified Architect (RHCA) is a Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE®) who has attained Red Hat's highest level of certification. RHCA certification represents a depth of knowledge in Red Hat Enterprise Linux® and breadth of knowledge across other Red Hat technologies.
Certification details
To earn RHCA, one must attain RHCE status and acquire at least five of the following credentials:
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator in Red Hat OpenStack
- Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Hybrid Cloud Storage
- Red Hat Certified JBoss Administrator
- Red Hat Certified Virtualization Administrator
- Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Security: Network Services
- Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Deployment and Systems Management
- Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Directory Services and Authentication
- Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in SELinux Policy Administration
- Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Clustering and Storage Management
- Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Performance Tuning
- Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Server Hardening
Note: Because RHCA can be earned through different combinations of Certificates of Expertise, employers are advised to request the Red Hat certification ID of all individuals claiming RHCA status and verify which of the Certificates of Expertise they have earned here.
The following audiences may be interested in earning an RHCA certification:
- Red Hat Certified Engineers who wish to demonstrate greater depth and breadth of knowledge and skills in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and across other Red Hat products
- IT architects who wish to demonstrate Red Hat-specific skills and knowledge
In preparation to earn an RHCA certification, Red Hat recommends the following:

In addition to earning Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) and Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), you must pass at least five of the following exams to earn RHCA:

- EX236 - Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Hybrid Cloud Storage exam
- EX248 - Red Hat Certified JBoss Administrator exam
- EX280 - Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Platform-as-a-Service exam
- EX318 - Red Hat Certified Virtualization Administrator exam
- EX333 - Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Enterprise Security: Network Services exam (Retired)
- EX401 - Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Deployment and Systems Management exam
- EX413 - Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Server Hardening exam
- EX423 - Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Directory Services and Authentication exam (Retired)
- EX429 - Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in SELinux Policy Administration exam (Retired)
- EX436 - Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Clustering and Storage Management exam
- EX442 - Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Performance Tuning exam
